What equipment do I need to run Colligo software?

Any wirelessly-enabled PC, Tablet PC or handheld will work with Colligo. If you are buying new hardware or upgrading your system, consider using the Microsoft XP® Operating system, as Colligo is optimized to work best with XP.

How many releases do you have in a year?

For Colligo Workgroup Edition, we expect to deliver two releases per year.

How does the licensing work?

When you purchase a Colligo software license, you can install the software on your computer (PC, laptop or tablet PC) as well as your Pocket PC (if you yourself also use one). Additional licenses are required for others to install the software on their computers).

Do you need a copy on every device for it to work?

In order for a device to be seen by other Colligo users Colligo Workgroup Edition (or Colligo Personal Edition) needs to be installed on the device.

How much disc space does a Colligo Workgroup Edition install require?

Colligo Workgroup Edition requires approximately 11MB of disk space, not including the Pocket PC install (15MB if required).

Can I transfer Photos, Music, and Video?

Absolutely, Colligo uses standard file transfer methods and adds compression technologies for optimizing fast transmissions over wireless. Colligo as a file transfer tool will help share files, for licensed content you will need to transfer any necessary license files as required by the software

Are your products certified for Windows 2000/Pocket PC/Windows XP?

Colligo Workgroup Edition was designed to leverage much of the enhanced functionality in these operating systems however they are not certified at this time. It is something we are working on, - stay tuned

I own Colligo Workgroup version 3.x. What are the differences with the new version and can I communicate/network with version 3.x?

Colligo Workgroup Edition version 4.x can discover, connect and interact with version 3.x users. However, version 3.x users will not be able to take advantage of the new Windows Shared Folders and Windows Shared Printers capabilities.

Colligo Workgroup Edition version 4.x runs on Microsoft® Windows®XP and Windows®XP Tablet Edition, Windows®2000, Windows®Me, Windows®98 Second Edition, and Windows®Pocket PC 2000, 2002, and Windows®Mobile2003.>

Can't I set up an ad hoc network myself? Why do I need Colligo?

Have you tried setting up your own ad hoc network? Your Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer would be able to. Colligo has simplified the numerous tasks to a single click that adds security and common applications to make it easy for mobile professionals to focus on their tasks not their computers. Colligo allows you to discover, connect and interact with other users in a familiar and easy to use interface. With a quick glance you can determine who is available and not, you can quickly and easily exchange information and files, share resources such as folders and printers, coordinate meetings by sharing free time slots in your Outlook calendar. No re-configuring of network cards, IP addresses, and making sure your team's computers can communicate.

How do I know that Colligo solutions are secure?

Colligo's encrypted transmission with built-in SSL security ensures the same high level security as Internet banking. In addition, Colligo's patent-pending authentication technology using x509 certificates protects you from "man in the middle attacks". Finally, Colligo interactions are computer-to-computer rather than server-based, with fewer points of connection for hackers to attack.

What is the distance range of a wireless network using Colligo software?

Colligo relies on WiFi technology (802.11b wireless networking) to discover, connect and interact with other Colligo users. WiFi networking has an approximate range of up to 100 meters (328 feet). The range is dependent upon the actual WiFi network card and the environment in which you are using it. Environmental factors include walls and electrical interference such as cordless phones and microwaves, which can interfere and shorten the distance.

Colligo Workgroup Edition can be purchased from the Colligo Online Store at http://www.colligo.com/store

Can I talk to public IM clients like AOL or MSN?

No, you can't talk to public IM clients like AOL, ICQ or MSN, However you can communicate with other Colligo users and our patent-pending user authentication scheme allows you to verify their identity, something that public IM clients don't provide. Workgroup Edition allows you to talk to Windows-based desktops, laptops, Tablet PCs and Pocket PC handhelds. Please read our hardware requirements

Does Colligo support Bluetooth and other OS?

Currently, Workgroup Edition does not support the Bluetooth wireless specification nor does it support other computer operating systems such as Macintosh or Linux. Please read our hardware requirements for more information
